Serving size:
10 rolls
What you'll need:
Equipment
- Large mixing bowl
- Saucepan
- Blender
Ingredients
For dough:
- 3 tablespoons vegan butter
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 cup water (for oatmilk)
- 1 sachet Upright instant oatmilk, original
- 1 tablespoon organic cane sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
For cinnamon filling:
- 3 tablespoons vegan butter
- ¼ cup organic cane sugar
- ½ - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
-
Mix Upright instant oatmilk with water to create oatmilk
- In a large saucepan, heat oatmilk and vegan butter until warm and melted (make sure it doesn’t boil!)
- Once warm, remove saucepan from heat and place over a cold water bath to cool mixture until 110F
- Transfer mixture to a large mixing bowl and sprinkle on yeast. Let activate for 10 minutes, then stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar and salt each
- Add flour into mixture in ½ cup increments, making sure to stir until mixed after adding
- Once dough becomes too thick to stir, knead dough on a lightly floured surface until it forms a loose ball
- Rinse mixing bowl and coat with olive oil. Put dough into bowl and set in warm place to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size
- After dough rises, place on lightly floured surface and roll dough out to a thin rectangle (dough should be approximately ¼ inches thick). Brush melted butter and top with sugar and cinnamon
- Tightly roll up dough and situate seam side down. Using a knife or string of floss, cut up dough into 1.5 or 2 inch pieces and place into a well buttered pan
- Lightly brush dough with melted butter and cover with plastic wrap to let rise. Preheat oven to 350F
- Once oven is hot, bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Let cool and serve immediately
We hope you enjoyed making these delicious cinnamon rolls! Stay tuned for more recipes from Jessie!
